Organizers
- International Union of Pure and Applied Biophysics (IUPAB)
- The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research
- Scientific Council on Biophysics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS)
- Lomonosov Moscow State University
- Division of Physico-Chemical Biology of RAS
Conference venue
- Plenary lectures, round tables and poster sessions will be held in the International Conference Hall of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Dubna, Russia
Conference topics- Macromolecules and supramolecular biological assemblies
- Protein structure and folding
- Protein-protein interactions. New principles and methods
- Breakthroughs in molecular simulations
- Mathematical modeling in radiation and environmental biophysics
Scientific scope- The scope of the proposed Workshop will cover different fields of computational and theoretical modeling of biomolecular interactions, including protein-protein, protein-DNA, and ligand-receptor interactions. Some specific examples of macromolecular computer modeling (which covers all the behavior of macromolecules) include protein folding, protein stability, conformational changes, enzyme catalysis and molecular recognition of DNA, RNA, proteins and membrane complexes. The lectures will describe how breakthroughs in simulation technology and methodology permit today atomic level of detail in understanding of molecular interactions. Special section devoted to different issues of radiation biophysics will be organized. It will cover simulation of DNA repair mechanisms, charge particle interaction with DNA, track structure simulation for radiation biophysics, mathematical modeling of eye retina activity and synaptic transmission. The Workshop program includes invited lectures, oral and poster presentations of young scientists and master-classes on molecular and Brownian dynamics and computer chemistry.
